In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
InshaAllah you are all making the most of this wonderful month as i'm sure you know that more than a week has passed already.
Have you checked out the Ramadan Tool Kit?? It's super handy to have!
In England we have been fasting through a heatwave, subhanAllah. Now I know it so far hotter in other countries but when there is a huge lack of air con it is a little challenging to say the least. I mean, i've had better experiences in hotter countries than here in England as you can relax indoors whilst hugging the air con! Here it's sticky and stuffy, but inshaAllah our thawab will be greater... just keep fasting just keep fasting, fasting fasting fasting.
I failed to prepare my body for Ramadan by not fasting within the upcoming months before Ramadan hit (big mistake!!) so with that, the heat, and 19 hour long fast's, lets just say it's been an experience so far...here are some of my random ramadan thoughts from the first day:
I guess there's no need to take this glass of water to bed *sets glass down* -must break that habit!
1 hour after waking: "this isn't so bad"
Day 1 is always the hardest...Day 1 is always the hardest
Reads Quran in Arabic out loud, feels 5 again *tongue ache*
1 hour and a half after waking: *hunger pain's* *nausea* *makes dua*
The smell of fried potato wafting in through the window, from the Chinese across the road "Noooooo..."
Tasbeeh time! Masbaha: *click* *click* *click* *click* *click*
Has wudu, empties mouth of water a couple hundred times to make sure not to swallow any
It's like the inside of a hot air balloon inside this prayer dress
Feels thirsty *gets up to get glass of water* Nope!
Napping is better than breaking the fast, right?
Wakes up with a mouth dry as the desert
What is cleaning? must catch up on 'week off'
Neighbours have BBQ *grumpy cat face*
Daydream's of all the most delicious food are your worst enemy
Cooking iftar before it's time for iftar should be illegal!
Those last few minute's before maghrib are longer than any other in history
Sabr Sabr Sabr Sabr Sabr Sabr
Takes first sip of water at iftar, feels it spread through body, subhanAllah
There's no taste like that sweetness of the first date, alhamdulilah
Ramadan without watermelon is MAAADNESS
10 minutes after iftar...i don't know what all the fuss was about(!)
